Default Question for Hardtop Owners

is your car more quiet wiht the hardtop on?
if u were on the freeway could u have a conversation with ur passenger w/o shouting?

From what I've read, yes. It is much quieter in the cabin with a hardtop.

That hardtop makes your car MUCH more quieter. Highway or street. It blocks out much more outside noise. I use to freak out when a train would come along side me from behind and blast the horn(I live right by a train station). With the hard top its as quiet as a normal car fixed roof sedan or coupe.

Some say its "louder" in the sense you hear a lot more of the squeaks and rattles coming from the inside of your car. You never notice these with the soft top because its so loud in the first place. Latches and seats are usually to blame.

But the hard top transforms the interior of the car. My gf loved it because you didn't have to shout all the time...

i'm so used to convertibles i guess i don't even notice the noise...but i still would love to have the ol' hardtop.
