will a pre-'04 hardtop fit on an '04 model????

same mechanisms??

also, i note that there is no place for the hardtop defroster switch in the '04 (pre-'02's had it in the console, i believe)...will this be a problem?

They would just wire the defrost to the dash switch in an '04 I imagine.
My dash switch is in the same place as the Cruise on and off, only to the right of the steering column.

Can you just see it in this pic, to the left of the AC button/behind the blinker stalk?

meaning can they take a hardtop without a kit??

i.e. is the kit already installed from the factory??
