That "reputable" shop shoulda taken the time to adjust it for you. You did pay them to do the install, right?

It is probably a hangar adjustment and may take some persuading to get it dialed in.

As for the drone, well unfortunately you have picked just about THE loudest dual available to us. If the drone doesn't get you, the exhaust tone will!! Silencers are your (and the guy behind you) friend.

p.s. I followed one of those in a group drive and I gotta say

Yup common Invidia problem and I also had to bend the hanger hooks until the tips were where I wanted them.

I never got used to the drone...eventually went to a T1R single, which believe it or not has less drone and is more quiet from the cabin. Still loud as hell for those outside.

You guys must be talking about the Invidia w/o the silencers. Very loud and even embarrasing at times. With the silencers in place, a very nice mellow tone that doesn't seem loud at all. Just a purr at crusing speed that allows for normal conversation and unhindered audio. Rapid acceleration and V-tec'n is very notable on the decibel scale though. If this discription isn't what your lookin for, there are plenty of alternatives.

The fit seems to be about right on my '06. The two adjustments that should allow for a perfect or almost perfect fit would be the up/down and the side to side. Loosening the two clamps should let the owner place the exhaust tips(lateral) in any posisition within reason within 1/2" to possibly even an inch when considering both sides . Up/Down I think may be even a little more.
Bending the hanger(s) would be a last ditch effort that at this point doesn't seem necessary.

I ran with my silencers in for the last year I owned the Invidia...and the drone was still unbearable. Guess my hearing is more sensitive.

Bending the hooks has often been necessary on the Invidia...there is actually a pretty long thread from years past about how many had to bend them to keep the tips from being in direct contact with the bumper, which would cause it to melt.

Perhaps things have changed. Can't imagine any body rub with the V3 for the reasons I previously posted.
Soundproofing of the interior cabin has probably also improved over the years hence your discomfort.
Other systems might be best for owners of older cars.

The invidia dual that I had installed on my 350Z had to be adjusted quite a bit for it to fit straight. I had a shop install it so I'm not sure exactly what was adjusted. They just told me that they had to do some adjusting to make it work.

I got under the car today and did my best. I loosened both clamps and started working on the most important issue- centering the canisters in the exhaust openings. Once that was done, I made sure they were both pointed the same direction vertically. However, even with adjusting the way they sit on the rubber spacers, I couldn
