Daily driving 4-4500K, below that there is no torque. Spirited, as high as it will take it.

When cold, 50% of the time I find a suddle notchyness at lower RPMs sub 4200 or so 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. Over 4200 usually shifts fine without any notchyness. Not sure why. Once the car is warm 99% of shifts under 4200 are fine. Currently using GM Sycnhromesh Friction Modified which I thought would help cold operation since it's pretty thin. I'm guessing it's a little too slippery and the syncros don't have as much friction as they need to engage smoothly. I also have a little excessive motor/tranny vibration and think my mounts are getting a bit soft or one is broke. I wouldn't think that would have much to do with cold shifting issues though.

I'm going to replace my motor mounts and tranny mounts soon. If the notchyness doesn't go away, I'm switching to Redline for the summer.

shift at 4 or 5... you won't have that problem.

metal click... could be the axle nut.

the jerk... could be the way you're letting go of the clutch pedal, like timing and how fast you completely let go of the pedal. or you let the revs drop too much when you shift into the next gear... but, of course, that probably won't be the case if you have a lot of seat time in driving a stick shift. only typing this out as it could be a possibility.

could you describe the "really loud sound" a bit more? does it go away or goes into a higher pitch with speed increase? or see if you could record it and post it? kinda hard to help with the description of "really loud sound from the back".... as, that could be the exhaust... as, that could be loud, and definitely from the back.

If I'm on the freeway I'm usually in 3rd or 4th gear, I have never shifted into 6th. Yeah, my gas mileage is in the single digits, but I bought the car to shift at 9k and that's what I'm going to do.

does that sound happens only in decel? it kinda sounds like something is rattling/banging on something... do you have an aftermarket exhaust? from your seats, your's is 08/09?

Why would you deprive the dam thing of not shifting at 9k? When warm of course.

it only happens at a certain RPM range.. when it gets too high it kind of goes away. which is why i think its just something vibrating, but it still really loud. i have an 08 and its all stock.
