Rick got my console cover today and it looks great... but like you I dont have a car to put it on.... so, my question:
Should I leave it rolled up til I get my car, or should I smooth it out and let it sit on a shelf?

By all means store it flat! It's ok to roll it up for shipping, but that's only for a few days.

I missed the German rib eyes thing but I can guess what thread it was on.
