Default Question for Rick

I've been a S2000 fan for a while, but own a RSX-S.

I was wondering if you produce any of your badges without the "2000" and just the "S", like your wheel center caps. I would really like to put one on my RSX since it is a Type-S. Obviously, I don't want to disrespect the S2000 owners by sticking something on my car that says S2000 but I thought it would be a nice touch if you produced one with just the S.

Thanks

Spasso,

This is something we have been considering for some time now. However, we could not get a good gauge of interest in the RSX community. If there proves to be enough interest in such a product, we would be happy to accommodate our fellow RSX owners. Would you mind spearheading a thread on RSX World to gauge interest? Please email me with the URL of the thread, and any other thoughts you may have on the subject.

Regards,
James

James,

I would be happy to do so, but I am more frequent to ClubRSX as I have found that it has much more traffic. If you want one on RSX World I can put one over there too. I have taken the liberty of doing a quick photoshop onto a RSX that would be as I would have it, totally debadged except for your "S" badge in place of the Acura symbol in the middle. I would have attached it to this thread but could not figure out how to post an image that does not already reside on the net. I will begin a thread on Club RSX shortly and will wait for news before I head over to RSX World. I'll let the replies pile up over the weekend and get back to you next week.

Thanks for your reply.

"RSX World" was really a kind of generic way of saying whichever RSX site you feel would be most beneficial to this effort. We are looking forward to reading the thread responses.

ClubRSX is by far the best RSX site on the internet. If you, or any company want to gauage interest in a product be sure to post on ClubRSX because they have more users, and more frequent posters then the other RSX sites combined.

Not to sound like A dick or anything, but I personally think that might ruin it for some of the people who have the S badge on the S2000 because A lot of people don't even know what the car is. Then they will start seeing it on other cars and it just won't be as special for the S2000 anymore.

I don't know, just my thoughts on it. Maybe design one that does not have an S like the S2000 one? maybe an R since its an RSX and the S for the S2000 or something of the sort?

I think I would have to think twice about ordering the S badge for the S2000 if it was made for other cars as well.

Our plan is to make badges for other cars, but not ones that in any way resemble the S2000 badges. We want them to be exclusive.

please DONT put a "R" on it for the RSX. Last thing i need is to called a Ricer cause they think it says Type R on my RSX.

Rick / James:

Looks like my idea was a complete bomb with those who took the time to reply. I think that there may have been some in favor that were too scared to post because they can't handle getting flamed. Anyways, thanks for the consideration.

Also, if you do choose to produce one for us in the future I will have to agree with RSXster... please don't make one with just an "R". There is some unrest among the RSX guys on this subject since there is no Type R in this country yet and I think it would be shot down quickly.

I think the best ideas for you would be a similar "S" badge, perhaps with the word "Type" above it, similar to the "2000" below the S on the current badge. Also, some of the guys may go for an "i-VTEC" badge of some sort since many of them feel the need to advertise it and have purchased decals from the new Civic-Si. Perhaps even combine the two ideas into one badge? Again, I have taken the liberty of photoshopping this type of badge and will email it over to you in a minute.

I certainly don't want to dilute the exlusivity for your S2000 customers but would like to have a different badge choice for my RSX, mainly because it would make my car more individual without having to add a rice-slicer wing and NOS stickers.

Thanks again.
