I always ash and drop my butts outside the car, but I live in an urban area, so fires are not a concern.

I have never burned the car with ashes.

With the top up, I only smoke with both windows completely down. To ash, I extend my arm as far from the car as possible and let wind do its work. When I pull my arm back in the car, the ash is gone!

With the top down, I ash by extending my arm either straight up or just to the left of the top of the A pillar.

To flick my butts, I stick my arm out the window and aim straight at the ground.

yeh, that's what I do. Flick it down toward the ground. This way it will just die and wont hit another car.

I used to get really pissed off when those stupid ass girls fling a cig out of a small crack in their windows and they don't flick it, and it comes right to my windshield or goes into my FMIC.

I think of it as, if I don't flick butts in the inner city, those people who has a job picking those up wont have a job anymore, and that means he can't feed his kids or buy his wife nice things, which leads to his wife leaving him, kids growing up to be a losers, and eventual suicide of the trash man, thus everytime I flick my cig butt out the window, I'm saving a life.

If it's not over $100,000, I will think about my needs before the car's needs.
So basically you give two shits about a car just because it's under $100,000.

No offense but thats the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

So if you were to burn a hole in your seat of your $90,000 NSX you would just shrug it off. It's under $100,000...doesn't matter. The fact is you DONT own a Ferrari, and chances are never will.

Sorry...I just hate seeing people not appreciate things they have worked to get. It's still a nice car and deserves to be taken care of.

I believe center consoles for ap2's run over $500. Maybe less from other places, but thats a hell of a lot for an ashtray. I'd rather fab something up.

If you don't live in an area where cigarette butts mean instant forest fire, then out the window for both the ashes and the butt should work for top up. Top down I would probably drop the ashes behind the side mirror and flick the butt straight down at the road, arm out the window. Luckilly I'm now an Ex-Smoker and don't have to worry about it.

I do hate it when another drive throughs out a butt in front of me. I worry it will land in my car. Anyone every had this happen?
This happened to someone else in our forum... he was rolling top down and it landed on his top in the well. Burned a small hole in it. He was Pissed. I think the airflow can sometimes suck one into the cabin.

IIRC, someone else had one that landed on his seat...

I eat my butts. Great fiber for dropping bombs.

Regardless of the car I always have all windows/and or top down, arm out the window.

In the S I wasn't worried about smoking smell with the HVAC on fresh air (NOT recirculate as some idiots think) and top dropped. I've smoked in my S a couple times and just don't feel comfortable. Cig burns are trashy. I'll save my in car smoking for the beater.
