Default Question for tall people

Is there anybody out there who modified the driversseat so that tall people (6.5 feet and more) can also fit in an S2000?

Please let me know.........

I'm 6'3 and had a little extra room with the stock seat.

With my Bride Lo-Max, I have 4" or more headroom, and the seat is only 2/3 of the way back on the rail. Racing seats are for sure the way to go if space is an issue.

However, there is a low-mount bracket for sale somewhere around the forums. It gives you something like an extra inch I think. It's not cheap though, if I recall...

My friend is 6'5 and he hates riding in my car. His head sticks out of the top.

There is a way to modify the mounting bracket. Know i've seen the thread here. And there is also a thread about removing some of the padding in the seat to make you sit lower.

Edit: Found the thread after a little search

i'm 6'4 and just fit ,it took some time to find that "sweet spot " but over time i got used to the low windscreen. I have be in other s2000 s with after market seats , which to me do nothing but screw up the driving postion even more . "Try this first use a teeshirt in the seat back pocket, fold it tuck it in behide you and use it for back support ...world of difference, second move the seat" flat part "all the way back then click it foward once ...to be able to move the seat back all the back ...push the seat till it clicks in tight ...seat back should be pushed back as far as possible tight to the hoop , with no room to move . hope i helped ya out ....it worked 4 me "

i'm 6'4 too and this is exactly what I did. I would be in a different car if I was any taller.

I did the free mod, it's worth it, I'm 6' 3" and fit great now. I can see the traffic lights without any effort and have plenty of room under the wheel. Take the "hangers" from behind the seat out and push it back as far as you can, hard, until it clicks (you have to be in the seat to do it). There are 2 ways to get room depending on your build, leave the seat relatively straight up and back all the way if you have long legs, recline it slightly then push it against the back hard for more head room. W/out modifying the seat you have to comprimise your comfort quite a bit, before spending the $$ on a new seat try it.

My only issue w/the stock seat is it's width, I have a 36" waist and occasionally get a numb leg from being squeezed in the hips. I haven't really found an aftermarket that has any more room yet, of anyone knows of one let me know.

If you have long legs, I'd also recommend an aftermarket seat. I'm 5'10" and with my Bride low-max bucket seat, I feel like I slide back at least another 6". Plenty of room back there compared to stock.

The BYS aftermarket rail for stock seats runs about $300 and drops you maybe 1.5".
