I wouldn't expect Honda to replace a part that isn't bad. Mine made the buzzing sound from the moment that I drove it off the lot, brand new. I finally couldn't stand the loud noise any longer and had it (clutch disk) changed at 17,000 miles. The clutch disk is the only thing that the TSB covers. If your dealer changed more than this and didn't charge you, consider yourself lucky. Mine was done at no charge. It seemed like I had a brand new car after the clutch was changed. It was so quiet it was almost spooky. The new clutch actually felt like a clutch. My old didn't feel like any clutch I had ever driven before, it didn't grab. My new one really bites and doesn't feel mushy.

Got mine done at 19,000 the buzzin was annoying the crap out of me - printed the service recall from this site - took it to the dealer - then test drove it - and said you got it - ordered the parts - week later dropped off the car - 1 day - new clutch and pressure plate............but now that my clutch grips really good - I see the buzzin startin up again.....plus I am starting to see a little problem with 2nd gear (it jumps hard).....so I might go back again - I want a new plastic window also, I just need to figure out how to approach the situtation.......

I just got the service bulletin done on my '01 yesterday. Truth is the clutch noise wasn't THAT bad to me. I probably have a high tolerance for noise (its a sports car after all).

Nevertheless who am I to turn down a free clutch? The dealer confirmed the noise and replaced just the clutch disk in about 2 days. I spent a total of $0.

My impressions? It's definately quieter, although I understand it will get louder with age. I'm still in the break in process, so no high rpm shifting for at least 500 miles. But the new clutch does feel more grippy, without any adverse side effect to pedal feel.

ok i had a great experance with Ralph Pontiac Honda in Greece NY

i took it in there for the buzzing problem, i handed them a copy of the tsb. they had to order the parts which took a couple of days but i had no problems with them at all.

once they got into it they said that the flywheel and throw out bearing were also bad. by the time they had called me to let me know of the problem, they had already ok'd the repair by there district manager and the parts were already on the way.

it took about a week and a half to get my car back but it was still snowing like crazy so i really didnt care. maybe they were just being extra nice to me because of the 2 sheet pizzas i bought them the day i dropped off my car
