Default Question for those who have side skirts/diffusers

I hope I'm posting this in the right forum!

Anyway, I'm getting ready to install some Downforce side diffusers(FRP) and was wondering if any of you think its worth it to have them covered with 3M protective film. Do sideskirts/diffusers generally take a beating from daily driving?

Any insight on this would be appreciated

Thanks,
Justin

i have oem side skirts and they are still perfectly fine, have probably driven 1k miles with them on. The oem ones are expensive and a pain to install that is the only downside.

OEM side skirts? What do those look like?

Thanks S2kroly.

Anyone else with actual side skirts of some sort?

The front corner closest to the front wheels might get chipped up due to rocks being thrown from the wheel at it...but that might be the only area that would take any damage.

Well that makes sense. Maybe I'll just wrap the front corners then.
Thanks.

I've had mine on for over a year and they still look mint. No scrapes / scratches etc and they do get stepped on from time to time.

well you're already paying a premium for the downforce side diffusers, might as well protect them to the fullest. i have the chilicoke side diffusers, they're flat black, if they ever got damaged all i'd do is spray paint 'em...

I have the Downforce diffusers, they hold up pretty well. There is only one scratch on my drivers side one from a spin out during a local track event. I spun on the entrance to the runway and slip off into the grass, and the diffuser just barely scraped the edge of the runway causing the scratch.
