A Question of Tolerance

thanks to you and all for this excellent site. Your request is dead on.

I think there is room for middle ground- I think newby posters will be put off when their threads go unanswered, but when a subject is oft discussed, going over the points ad nauseum gets old. I usually put in a brief opinion, then a pitch for the search feature- it just doesn't occur to some new visitors to look for it.

who cares, either ignore the thread or talk about it.

Everyone has their preferences, opinions and thoughts. Please respect them even if you don't agree. There are a lot of non-S2000 owners who come here because of the quality of the people and the discussions. I welcome those who are interested in the S2000 and sport car enthusiasm in general and I hope you do too. They come for the same reasons you do, to participate in intellegent conversation with intellegent people who have a few slices short of a full loaf when it comes to cars.
Please join me in welcoming your fellow enthusiasts. They are not here trolling simply because they don't own or even want to own an S2000.

Hi C3-
Agreed- Intelligent, well written posts are welcome here.
But why does S2Konline continue to tolerate the name calling, the flame baiting and the obvious prejudices and hate mongering?
I've seen many examples by many parties involved. One in particular has grouped some enthusiasts together and has a name for them, starting threads that hope to make them mad, using foul and abusive language/snide comments, and continuously baiting them after responses have been posted. I'm not saying I've not been guilty of participating in flame wars- but what I am saying is that some people here get away with everything precisely because they are that visible and are abusing their right to free speech.
There's a point when the privilege of being heard in a forum should be revoked- usually when socially unacceptable ettiquette has been displayed time and time again against the advice of the moderators/administrators. Ultimately, we, the public, need to know what your guidelines really are, since the many loose interpretations of the posting guidelines have left a foul taste in many of our mouths.
Please set the ground rules- and create order in this chaos. The bottom line is- we should not be allowed to post to this forum if we continuously abuse it after knowing the guidelines- and for those that don't agree to the rules... they can go create their own bulletin board forum for the Honda S2000.

Welcome!
I have to agree with the others, The Miata helped get the whole roadster thin revitalized so to speak...
In 94' I rented a Miata for a couple of weeks, although an automatic it was a blast to drive. Besides you can always have a "Monster Miata" (I wanted one for awhile) none of us can have the Ford 5.0 dropped into our car. Monster Miata's kick some A$$.
Kick back and kick up your feet and enjoy!!
