questions about the S2000
I am planning on buying a new car soon, and I was thinking of the S2000, either that or BMW 330i. Is S2000 good for daily driver?? would you guys recommend this car to buy, if it was the only car you have?? and honestly which car would fit a daily driver...

Hey awWhHDayUm,
You'll find that many people here use the S2K as a daily driver, myself included, and love it. It is a harsher ride than your average commuting sedan, but that is part of what we like. There was a good thread on this a while back. Click here to read it. Good luck on your decision.

p.s. Pick the Honda!

If your considering the 330i or the S2000, get the 330. These cars are not comparable. The S2k will not live up to your expectations as far a amenities or luxury is concerned. Ride is harsh in comparison, it is loud, and it screams to the red line.
The 330 comforts and pampers.
First define what you want, then go car shopping.
Do u want:
an adrenaline rush everytime you get behind the wheel
turn heads
feel your pulse rise as you scream to 9K on the tach
VTEC rush pushing you up from 6K
take turns like your clamped to some kind of invisible track
drop the top, and feel the wind in your hair
get the S2K
or...
daily driving pleasure with a quiet ride
soft features
the so called "status" of owning a BMW (no flames here please, nothing against them)
impressive performance that can seat 4 or more
get the 330
bill

I have one of each. Well, almost. My BMW is a '94 325i, but it was the top of the 3-series line when I bought it. It's got about 120K miles on it, and I intend to replace it with a 330i next summer.
As others have said, the cars are not comparable. The BMW is the best sport sedan ever created (IMO -- all this is IMO, OK?), and it's great for commuting, long trips, and even does well for backroad strafing in an gentrified sort of way. The S2K is a pure sports car, and trades quite a bit of comfort for quite a bit of performance.
If I lived by myself and could have only one car it would be the S2K. But if I could have only one car in my actual life -- I have a family and don't want to get rid of them -- it would be the BMW. (Note that this is independent of the problem that we wouldn't fit in the S2K.) My wife and daughter would probably not be willing to make the comfort-performance tradeoffs that I would accept.
So nobody can really answer your question. It depends totally on what your own life is like, and what tradeoffs you're willing to make yourself.

I narrowed my choice for a new car down to the S2000 and the BMW 330ci. I currently drive a Nissan 240SX and my next car must be rear wheel drive (I hate FWD). They are pretty different in what they offer, but both are good cars. For me, it has simply come down to price. The BMW 330ci is in the high thirties and the S2000 is in the low thirties. In my opinion, the S2000 offers more overall bang for the buck. It's convertible, a little faster, and looks better. I didn't even bother to look and see how much a convertible BMW 3-series car would be, about 10k more I would guess.
