End of the day, the HT can be removed, so if a thief wants it, they will get it - it latches into the car so its pretty easy to take - it comes off about as easily as the soft top opens.

Yes the doors can be slim-jimmied (SlimJim is beef jerky btw) - very easy to open a Honda door this way, like any car. Shaved keys don't work. You need a chipped key to start it, but professional thieves know how to defeat these measures as they are on all cars these days.

Bottom line is that if a thief wants the car, it could get stolen. A good aftermarket alarm and kill switch are good defense mechanisms, but nothing's bulletproof.
LOL, I think your the first person i've seen say that a car can be slim jimmied. But then again i'm in PA where slang is the native tongue. Anyway, very informative. It looks like In order for me to get a s2000 i will have to get hard top locks, seat locks, and put my pager alarm on the car. I could move somewhere else but no matter where you are, there are theives lurking. Lukily there are plenty of amatuers in my area.

Thanks again.

Buy the seat lock bolts. The seats are a popular theft item...not much else in the car is.
