Trust me, you wouldn't want to put any silencer on an N1 spec exhaust.

yeah the silencer sucks! it rattles and makes the exhaust sound farty... but it does come with the kit. i believe spoon engineers included it for those hot dates that s2k drivers go on... you know when you take that special girl out, you do want to know what shes saying in the car right? heh maybe sometimes at least.

With the silencer on, it's still loud inside the car. If you really crank down the bolt that holds the silencer in place, you'll totally quiet the exhaust to the point that all you hear is engine sound if you stand a couple feet directly behind the car. But it's still loud in the car

The sound is like it is if the silencer is off. I think the cabin is still loud with the silencer because there is a premuffler to Spoon's exhaust right under the cabin. I think the reverb from the pipe and muffler that travels pass the cabin creates a lot of noise around the cabin. I tried it a few days ago and I was also amazed. Which makes me curious as to how straight exhaust systems like the J's and the Amuse which doesn't have the premuffler sound with the silencer installed.

When I did this, I really really cranked the retaining bolt down and the pipe was cold when i started so it probably expanded as it got warmer. I had my friend rev the car and i was standing directly behind, all I could hear was engine noise. But inside the car it was still loud. I tried again a few days later and I didn't crank it down as much as I did previously and this time it was a little louder outside the car.

I noticed the rattle of the silencer also (annoying) but not too bad. And not to dispute anyone's point, but I think it sound pretty much stock with it in, in the cabin. Maybe if you rev it to 7000-9000 RPM, but it would of been loud anyway. Like everyone said, I put the silencer in for dates, important business meeting, blah, blah. But I find myself using it less and less. Besides the power loss drives me nuts!!!
