I juste received my Mugen Ecu today...
And i'm not really satisfacted..
I've the 4-2-1 Vracing collector & full exhaust line, un-catalysed.
I now, i don't feel the Vtec kick anymore... it's really linear. I don't yet compares chronos time.
Is it the same for you ?

For the Apexi owner:

Can you give me where is the VTEC point on ECU.

Just a little note : the Vracing exhaust line & collector is a racing exhaust line. It's hand-made.
Vracing is famous in Belgium & France, they supply all exhaust line for Peugeot Kronos for rally competetion.

Hello,

The reason you may feel there is less "kick" in Vtec is because the Mugen ECU will give you much better torque and throttle response when in the 2000-6000 rpm range.

Please feel free to call (262-593-2800) or email us(tech-staff@kingmotorsports.com)if you have further questions.

Cheers!

Scott

From what has been posted here the Mugen ECU, and most other mods, provide a more linear power output thanks to the improvement in low end torque and better fuel/timing management(ECU). So the switch from pre-VTEC to VTEC is less pronounce.

It's also well documented here that this ECU wont give you more power (at least not enough to feel). It basically helps the car perform at maximum performance all the time. The stock ECU hold back the car (power) if conditions are not perfect.
