I just received a call from my dealer that my 2001 S2000 has arrived. They sent me that final pricing information and they have added every imaginable dealer installed option. The dealer is out of state and I

My friend, your dealer is ripping you off, plain and simple. If you're desparate for the car and the money doesn't matter, buy it. Otherwise, tell him to shove it.

Scott,

The Trunk Spoiler, Underbody Spoiler, Side Strakes, and Black Chrome emblems are all good looking and IMO worth the money. On the other hand, I can't imagine mud flaps looking good and a pin stripe could potentially ruin the car. Not to scare you, but a pin stripe does not belong on a car with these lines.

Tell the dealer to take them off (and possibly still charge you for them), that might be the best option.

Tell them NO WAY!! S2000's still aren't on every street corner, but that's way too much money! I gave $1400 over MSRP for mine. The only option I got was floor mats, but if you price around you'll notice that those options you're getting don't justify anything close to that price. It would be worth your while to buy somewhere else in the US and drive it home if you can't find one in California for less than that.

Mudflaps?? I thought they were already part of the car. Unless I'm missing something, the dealer is ripping you off big time. Pin stripes?? What a joke.

Definitely look somewhere else...if you're going to go out of state, then make sure you get MSRP.
