HOW DO YOU GET THE HOOD CLOSED? I am having the hardrest time closing the hood with both pieces of the bra. Is it just too snug? Please help!

I had to adjust my car's hood latch. The hood wasn't shutting completely when I got my S2000 last month. There were only three screws on the bottom part. I think I used a 10mm and a small ratchet. You may have to adjust the hood with and without the hood bra to make sure you get it perfectly. The hood closes fine now with and without the bra. I have read from other post on here to not to push on the hood because its made out of aluminum.

RRO...I have not experienced the problem you are having with closing the hood. The bra is a very good fit and by dropping the hood from the +/- 12" height, the lock engages. Is the problem caused by the plastic tabs or is the material bunching up?

Just drop it from a higher point. Mine closes fine if I lift it up another 8".

With all due respect to SCS2K, I strongly suggest that you not push on your hood because it's made of aluminum and you sure don't want to put any dents in it. I have a Colgan bra and have found that if I drop the hood from about 12" it latches just fine.

Mine's a little tougher to get closed with the bra as well, but I've found that by releasing from about 2 feet up and by "throwing" it a little bit, it closes with a nice "thud".

Thanks for the advise guys. I finally got it on by dropping from a little higher as suggested. It just feels like I am hurting her when I do it!

I will put the car out in the sun for a little tomorrow to soften the bra so I can stretch it out better. I also finally found where to slip the weird square "engine compartment mounting tabs".

RRO - This is normal - when new, the bra is a snug fit. The tight parts will relax with time, and as you plan, leaving it in the sun will help.

Besides getting the hood closed, is everyone happy with the Colgan Bra.

Any complaints at all?
