Default Quick! I'm without my manual and I got

I'm a new owner (1 month) of a MY02 with 23000 miles. I've had no issues with the car. Today, on a road trip away from home, the light came on and I don't have my manual with me. Can someone confirm that this is not a warning light? My understanding is that it is a service reminder light, but I want to be sure. Thanks

its just a warning light - don't worry

either take it in for service (if its due) or you can do this:

turn car off
hold down trip button
turn car on while holding button
light should go off

Your regular service interval is every 7500 miles. My guess is you're due for the 22500 service. It's a minor service.

Yes it is just a reminder light. It is triggered by a certain mileage after the last light reset. Sometimes the mechanic doesn't reset the light after a scheduled maitenence.

Here's the secret code to turn it off:
Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start

Wait... maybe that's the code to get 30 lives in the Nintendo game "Contra".

Brains are weird like that, aren't they? Half the time, I can't remember what my boss asked me to do just 5 minutes ago, yet I can still remember a stupid code for a Nintendo game.

So true... I can remember song lyrics from when I was a kid, and I can remember op codes from computer assembly languages that I used 15 years ago, but I can't remember what I did for the holidays a year ago!
