I don't know if I am a 'racing guru', but I would say that what you want to do is you are into high rev clutch drops is to do this:
Position your left foot on the clutch just so that the tips of your toes are the only thing holding the pedal in.
Rev the engine to desired RPM, preferably about 7k.
Slip your toes off the botton of the pedal.
The wheels will spin.
You will need to modulate the throttle so that the wheels spin only briefly.
Once they hook up, you will launch like a rocket.
If you just nail the gas, your wheels will just spin and spin, and you will go no where. Therefore backing off the gas (depending on where you drop the clutch at) may be necessary. 6K launches probably won't keep you in VTEC, which is slower than raising the revs a little bit and dropping it there...

The idea is to keep the car in VTEC all the time. If it drops below you're going to bog. I'm not saying that this is easy. It's easier with the SC, but then you just have other problems, like redlining all the way through 1st gear because your little tires can grab
