Racking up the miles!

Look at it the other way, all those days where your in your boring daily driver. How many times have you thought you wished you were in your S2k

On the other hand, IF my daily driver was a POS, then maybe I'd miss the S2K no matter the driving conditions.

Fit heated seats, they are great
also I can stream music through the car as well. The only thing I miss is cruise control, now I have a later car I'm hoping to be able to find the parts from an ap2.I guess that's why I like the S2k as much as I do, it has 2 personalities. If you drive it normally it does the daily drive but if you find yourself close to some great roads, turn off the main road and keep your foot down and enjoy the high revving fun side.
I sold my last one as I fancied a change, 2 months later I bought another S2k. I'm sure at some point my opinion will change
If someone wants to keep the miles low, more power to them. There's people from all sorts of financial classes here. I think those who own multiple vehicles are more understanding of this. While those who own the S as their DD will shout out that you need to drive it daily.
Just my thought.

That's exactly what it was...a broad generalization. Wasn't meant to be taken as an absolute. Nor meant to be offensive, regardless of where on the spectrum, one may fit. There will always be exceptions to everything in life. I never said 'all people' from this area fit here...and "the rest" all go here. It's a broad generalization that I thought perhaps a significant number of people may fit into, based on their current situation in which their vehicle is used for them. People tend to support findings like this, based on what they're doing at a said point in time.
I don't view a car as an investment, I bought to enjoy, so I have no regrets adding on miles. For reference, I have an 2007 which I bought in Dec 2012 at 66K and now just over 80K in 2+ years.
That said, I do cringe a little as it passes "milestones" - from 69K to 70K, 75K+, 79K to 80K..

The main reason I'm more comfortable in my DD is the auto trans. I think the term "daily drive" is extremely relative, which explains the wide variety of opinions. In my case, I live right in the middle of downtown Philly. The only time I go to the burbs is to pick up my daughter. Not only does this require a child seat, but I'm typically headed to daycare during rush hour. When I'm in the city, it's not uncommon for me to average 7-8 mph. When I head to the burbs during rush hour, I average 15 mph. My IS350 has about 5,000 miles on it now and my average speed over the life of the car is somewhere in the 15-20 mph range.
If I were to use the S as a DD, I'd spend the entire time shifting between 1st and 2nd, never hit VTEC, etc, etc. Having a car that begs to run, yet rolling along at 10 mph is utterly pointless and frustrating. That's the main reason my S is a garage queen that will only come out to play on nice summer weekends.
If I lived out in the burbs, I'd still have a DD for winter, but the S would also get a lot of time serving as a DD.
I bought mine with 141k. Before that I bought an 02 Acura and I was actually trying to sell it to make my S2K my daily. Didn't sell it after all, so I mostly drove the Acura. Now, the Acura is gone and I drive my S daily. I can understand people not driving it daily, because to me, it was a lot easier jumping in my Acura and taking off. Lots more room in the trunk and more roomy inside (cupholder comfortable armrest, warm inside during the winter, etc...), plus it was an automatic so it made it that more easy. I wouldn't mind owning another car, but I don't make that much money to afford another daily. Have to wait until my insurance company gets back with me with my new rates before I even start thinking about owning another car. I applaud others who drive their S2ks daily because if something breaks just fix it. Engine blows? Replace it. That's my thinking. There will always be parts out there for whatever you need. Drive the heck outta it.
this, cept im 26. bought the s while already having a civic as a daily driver. but since buying the s, I have put less than 50 miles on my civic... its just too fun to let it sit
I try to keep the miles relatively low, but not at the expense of enjoying it. I bought it as a weekend/autox toy and that's what it gets used for. Lower mileage will help it hold its value a little better should I ever sell, but I didn't buy it as an investment.
