Default Radar Power Cords

I am planning on getting a radar, but seeing where the power source is, it seems like the cord would have to be pretty long. Does it get in the way? If I mount the radar on the windshield do I have to hang it pretty low? Does the V1 or the Escort run the same length? Anyone with a picture of their setup?

I don't want to hard wire it...

Thanks,
Allen

Most people hard wire them into the dome light.

Search for V1 hard wire, it should give you a pretty good lead

While your looking, check out:

If I were in the market, I'd pickup this one.

Good advice. Hardwiring is easy. Takes about an hour, and makes the interior cleaner without that wiring laying about. It always seemed to be in the way.

I gave a local stereo shop $20 cash to do it right, took them 15 minutes

I just ran the wire behind the seat, along the door, up the sil, then out the dome light. Whats nice about the Valentine is that the power wire is just a regualar phone cable, so you can just buy whatever size you need.

Hardwire it to the fuse box. There's a spare ignition outlet there and it'll power the v1 only when the ignition is on. Simple to do. There's plenty of threads that show how to do it. I did mine in like 45 mins.

Hardwired FTW.

I hated the cord for the first year I owned the car, now after 9 months of hardwired bliss...I am much happier.
