I never understood why Honda continues to do this. What's the point of having a security code? "In case it gets stolen" you say. Well then it kindof defeats the purpose when the code is on the back of the radio. Sure you can remove the sticker, but how many people know it's there, let alone do it for those that do.

Who the hell would want to steal a stock HU anyway?

I tried it too, as I don't have my code. It didn't work for me either.

The serial number of my HU was printed on a few small labels. One is actually in the glove box itself. One is stuck on the front page of my owner's manual, and I think one is stuck on the trunk lip (not sure, that might be the VIN label)...

It's absolutely ludicrous that Honda would charge you for the this, but I suppose if they have to remove the radio...

Anyway, glad you got the info, cpr.

The code itself is NOT on the radio. The serial number of the radio is on a label in the back of the radio; and given the serial number, a Honda dealer can look up the code for you. Some dealers will insist on proof of ownership before they'd give you the code, while others don't care and give the info for the asking.

Should take you about 10 minutes to pop out the radio just to look at the sticker. Not as if you have to unhook any of the wires or harnesses. There are a number of sites that show you the step-by-step process. Did it myself the first time this past weekend and it was cake.

exact samething i did... there is a number on sticker....

The code is not on the back or the radio only the serial number that can be looked up to find out what the code for that radio is.

Um, you guys do know the code is on the inside of the glove box right? I had that problem 2 times now on 2 different S2000's and you just open the box and its on a sticker inside there. Open the center glove box, on the DOOR there should be a sticker with a 5/6 digit number printed on it. That should be your radio code.

Of course its entirely possible that your's isn't there. For all I know the dealerships around here may put those on there for the customer...
