Default Radio Cover Help

For some reason my radio cover wont open by itself anymore. When i push it in it opens like half an inch and just stops, i have to pull it to get it to open all the way. Has anyboyd had this problem? Also when i reverse out of my garage there is a little drop off from where the garage is to the drive way ( i live in a town house) and i notice it makes this harsh sound ( I think the sound is coming from the rear suspension?) when it dorps down to the drive way. The drop is about the height of a sidwalk curb but its slopped. Thanks in advance.

You can just pull it off and check the springs or replace it. It comes off really easily with just gentle persistent tugging. I don't know what it costs, but it isn't too much.

Mine behaves like yours. I think it is normal.

My radio door was working like yours after spending a windy day with the top down at the track. Probably more than a little dust in the make-it-go-down-by-itself mechanism.

I sprayed it out with some of that Dust-Blaster in a can stuff for computer keyboards, and then lubed it with some teflon in a can stuff (Slick 50). Fixed it right up, and it hasn't given me any problems since. A new one costs less than $30.

Without hearing it personally, it's kind of hard to judge what your rear suspension sound is, but over drop-offs the rear suspension does make a springy-scratchy what are you doing to me kind of noise.

My radio cover does the same thing when the weather gets into the thirties or so. When it warms up, it seems to work normally again. No biggie.

On the other hand, I didn't think it ever got that cold in Irvine. You been up in the mountains or something?

could your "suspension noise" be the flaps rubbing on the ground? mine rub if i dont approach my driveway sideways- and that is a nasty noise! (btw, i have stock suspension)
