Default Radio Theft Code

I had some work done on my car and they activated my theft deterrent system in the radio. I leased the car used and do not have the original code. Honda told me I would have to pull out the radio to get the code off of it. Is there an easier way?

Yes, call the leasing company you got it from and get the code

Sorry, smart ass in me tonight. You would need to pull the radio, get the serial number and show proof of ownership. They are typically sticklers over this, which IS GOOD, since it is a theft deterrent.

Good luck.

I called the dealership I leased it through and they are going to check to see if they have the code. They sold the car to the original owner who forgot to give them the card when the car was traded in. I really did not want to have to yank the damn radio out.

Who in their right mind would want to steal the OEM radio? I think when they designed the stereo...it is already Theft Deterrent....

I've been driving around for half a year now without the radio. I just don't give enough I guess to make the effort to pull the radio.

You have to pull the radio out, there is a serial number on the bottom they need. SOMETIMES the serial number might be stuck inside the glove box.

UNFORTUNATLY, U DON'T HAVE AN 02', IF U DID HONDA HAS UPDATED THIS TO DEPRESS THE 1 AND 6 PRESET TWICE AND IT WILL YIELD U YOUR SERIAL
NUMBERS IN TWO PARTS. THIS IS INLY FOR 02 EX AND S MODELS FROM HONDA.
P.S BE CAREFUL POPPING OUT THE RADIO COVER,THEN FOUR SCREWS

I bought mine used and it didn't come with the code either so I found out the original buyers name and called the dealership he bought it from. They looked him up and had the code to me in seconds. I was thankful it was so easy but also distressed because it was too easy. Hmmm
