Fires nearly put out after burning 300ha of national park just north of city. Smoke over the city the last few days (sometimes quite thick) due to wind blowing smoke from fires around.

This is a photo of the fires just north of the city:

No chance of rain. Another typical stinking hot day with temps still expected around 95*F.

Ahhh summer.

Wow...It's hard to think of fires when we are suffering some frigid temps here - especially in the Northeast! Below zero in lots of places.

[Edit: Temp right now is 5...headed for a high of 18-22]

I'm gonna shadow MsPerky today - for some reason Southern Virginia and Northern North Carolina are just as cold, if not colder, than NOVA and Maryland

I live north-east of Los Angeles 50 miles and had the same thing happen with heat and fires in October. What are your winters like down there? At the risk of being ridiculed, when you flush a toilet, does the water go clockwise or counter clockwise?
