The strikers are the parts that fasten to the windshield header. The soft top latches hook into the strikers. The "hard top" strikers are identical except they are about twice as thick, hence stronger and stiffer. They should be replaced free under warranty.

Thanks for the information, that is very good to know.

Has any of you had any resistance from Honda regarding replacement of the strikers under warranty?

Too bad the search function is not working Or else you'd be able to find a picture of the two different strikers. Someone posted a picture of the "hard-top installation kit" when the hard-tops first came out (way back in late 2000 or early 2001???). But, what year is your car? My understanding is that only the MY2000 cars have the old-style strikers. Once the hard-top became widely available, all S2000's manufactured after that came with the new strikers and do not need to be replaced.

I would also recommend that you use the SHIN-ETSU grease to lubricate the rubber molding around the softtop. I had a few instances where my drivers side dripped a little during a few drives, but the lubrication seems to have fixed my problem.

The other thing that I'm doing now that might help, is to connect the strikers and then *briefly* pull the convertible button backward<lowering action>. This puts more pressure against the windows and helps seal it better.

I had problems with my dealership. They needed to recreate the problem, but couldn't. In my case, the strikers were vibrating while I was driving and it drove me nuts. After they declined my striker replacement effort, I started doing that procedure I mentioned above and don't have any vibration either. This probably isn't the best way to go about it, but it works for now.

Couldnt find any pics though.

Good luck, this would really suck, not something that you'd expect from such an expensive car.
