That IS the jack point htough is it not? How would lifting the car there damage it?

Nope, the jack point is the THIN edge of metal more lateral than the massive rail that is indented in that picture... Ouch!

i just took a look underneath my car again and seen the pictures posted earlier, it is the metal line with some paint missing not the one by the cat. Is this ok, and could i get it fixed, how much of a price would i be looking at? the dent is straight down from the passenger mirror about 5 1/2 inches and slightly bent not totally sideways, but the paint is missing and is showing the metal . need help guys

The bare metal is what concerns me as the factory rust proofing is now jeopardized. Can you straighten it yourself? Can you bend it back with a LARGE set of channel lock pliers? If so, then mask off the painted side of the car and clean off the damaged piece with a metal brush thoroughly and spray it with several layers of rust paint the same color as the under side of the car. That rail itself is not a big deal insofar as rust since it gets scraped every time you jack up the car anyway, but the parts it attaches to may be affected.
