Read this. It cant be true. S2000 & lemons
I would be very suspect about this list based on that # because Consumer Reports lists the S2000 as a "best buy" and certainly one of their criteria, as we all know, is dependability and quality of build. I'm sure before listing the S2K with such a rating, they do their homework. In most states, one's car can be dubbed a "lemon" if it's out of service
for more than 30 days. I don't think a car is a lemon because a part has to be ordered from abroad. I'd love to read the complaint list. Probably seven out of 10 report, "the freakin' car won't start when you turn the key. I have to use the emergency red button start switch every damn time."
BWAHAHAHAHA

To me, a lemon is a car that has to be taken to the shop to replace the left CV joint, then replace the rotor in the distributor cap the next week, then back to the shop again in two weeks because the interior handle for the sliding door just broke off. Not to mention the trip to replace the retractable antenna... Then there's the power windows (all of them) that called it quits, the A/C that needs to be recharged - and the rear A/C unit just flat-out stopped working. Oh, I can't forget about the rear windshield wiper that seems to work only when it's not raining... And the list goes on.
That, my friends, is a lemon. But of course I can put up with it, seeing as this particular minivan makes 370hp at the wheels

As P.T. Barnum would say: "There's a sucker born every minute.". This "lemon list" scam has been going on for years. The S2000 was probably on it even before the S2000 was released
Here are a couple of other "lemon lists" that the S2000 is on (notice they are always put out by lawyers):
VERY VERY VERY DISTURBING.... Automotive Lemon Law list for PA & NJ.. Guess what?!?!?
S2000 is #7 on this Lemon List.
Since this question comes up so often, maybe we should put this up on the FAQ section (just like the "Should I buy an S2000" question).

just because there are complaints doesn't quite qualify it as being a lemon. a car qualifies as a lemon if the problems cannot be repaired or fail even after repair. all of the things that went wrong with my s have been repaired and i haven't had a problem yet. ie, clicking rear, inner cv joints, rattling upper control arm, srs light, abs light after 100 mph.
I think that the complaints may be true, but exactly what are the complaints about? rear window visibility, tire wear, 2nd gear grinding, head light problems. I must admit that I did contact Honda concerning my tire wear. Had to buy new tires after 6000 miles.
