Did anyone get their headlights jacked yet?

TL/CL (especially in NY/NJ area) are being targeted for HID.
They break the lense, hood, bumper to get to the goodies.
According to the article in NY Times, the repair to the damage would cost $4500.

This is not a rumor. My colleague's headlights were jacked tonight, along with other TLs in the Loews lot. When he reported to the police, it turned out they work their way along US22 from central jersey to newark tonight, and it has been happenening for months. I live practically next to US22 and is 2 towns away from Newark.

The market for those "internals" of HID are accords, civics and tegs.

S2000 being the only other Honda with HID (though slightly different) could be targeted as well?
Owning both the stook and TL makes me sick to my stomach at the moment.

Man...I feel sick (and worrysome) after reading this.
I really wish there were stiffer punishment for theft...like chopping off the thieves' hands. Didn't they do this at one time in Europe and China?

"Take my kidneys but leave me my HIDs..."

Good post, Flying Pig, with a link to the New York Times article.

It's a Muslim law. I think they are doing it in Afghanistan too. In fact, I heard there are some web sites with videos of hand chopping in process. Sound's pretty gross.
What kind of lights do S2000s have anyway? (9005? 9006? etc)

I wonder how many bulbs they have in those things. I like the new Q45 head lights, they look like machine guns

Yup they still do it in Saudi Arabia... I lived there for 6 years... it's an interesting country. The good thing is, I've litearlly left the front door open for 3-4 hours a few times and nothing ws ever missing.

Did you know sex crimes are greeted with a head chopping?
