Read Window Rattle at High speeds - How to Fix?
So,
Recently I was cleaning my rear glass and I noticed that the felt velcro tape on the inside corners of the glass came off. There was some white glue residue that was pretty hardened and I don't think it was my doing. That thing has reached its age. Anyho I read a bunch of threads on the topic. There are two views. Some people think that it is just here for transport reasons, and serves no purpose. The second school of thought (the one I agree with) is that the velcro prevents the flap hitting the glass and making noise. Which is exactly what I think is the source of my rattle. This wasn't happening before this got screwed up.
I have read all the below threads I could find on the matter.

Problem is that most of these threads are really old and I can't see the pictures for the fixes recommended. My main concern is should I try to glue the existing stuff back on (what kind of glue sticks to glass? Will super glue do that...? I probably need to stick both pieces again, one end to the glass and one end to the vinyl flap. There is all kinds of felt tape available on amazon.com that has adhesive flue on one side but I can't choose which one works best for this scenario?
Pic of what I am talking about
Any help from those who have faced this problem and been able to successfully resolve it would be much helpful. I noticed that some of the initial thread starters had their tops replaced under warranty for this very issue. I assume its a big deal then?
