It's common knowledge that Honda provided them with a ringer. Apparently it was equiped with Mugen Piston Recoil Springs. I also suspect some alterations to the canuter valve, but no one knows for sure.

wtf....An 00 making 218whp and an 04 making almost 250...So that means an 04 would be going low 13s in the 1/4 easy...Which doesn't happen from the magazines or other drivers time slips. They are all the same 1/4 times my00-04....Weird.

Bleh... old news. The 04s make more power than the pre-04s. It's not a 30whp difference, but probably more like 8-12. I've learned to live with it... OK, that's not true... but I've learned to mod my car to keep up w/ the 04s.

both 04 and 03 they used to dyno was measured at the flywheel. they didin't just measure the 2004's hp at the flywheel and measured the 2003 at the wheels. temple of vtec's dyno shows that the 2004 is making over 20 hp (at flywheel) over the previous models.

tov didn't just get those numbers from the test car they recieved from honda, they also got a volunteer from this board to do a comparison and the results were similar.

where did you get this information from? i've been doing some research on the s2k (mainly 2004) and this is the first time i heard of this blasphemy.

if this was mazda or hyundai we're talking about, i would give you the benefit out the doubt, but a company like honda wouldn't do that. if they wanted to overrate the 2004 s2k, why would they tell the general public that the 2004 still makes the same hp? i dont think honda ever overrated there engines, they are actually known to underrate it like they did with the 2004 s2000.

well, when i test drove the 2004 and 2003 back to back, the 2004 felt faster. but like i said before, i cant really trust my butt dyno.

also, from all the people i spoke with who previously owned a 00-03 s2k who owns a 2004 now (from this board), they all told me the 2004 is definatly faster.
