Cool Rear Console Material

What is a good replacement material for the stuff outlined in red?
What type of adhesive would be good to attach it?
Thanks in advance!

It's called jute, if you search for jute automotive padding you'll see lots of options. Depending where you're putting it, a good spray adhesive is all that's needed.

I've got a can of Keyston Bros that I got from an upholsterer, it's not available retail. The 3M or Loctite stuff works well.

Any auto trim adhesive, or also labeled headliner adhesive. 3M makes good stuff. But any brand will work fine.

Spray both pieces. The jute, and the part you'll glue it to. Wait 3-5 min for setup, place carefully (you only get one shot).

Jute absorbs water but is easy to get and inexpensive. I replaced a lot of mine with 3M thinsulate. Harder to find but does not attract or hold water (hydrophobic) and is better at sound insulation.

Out of curiosity, do those materials in the rear compartment of our cars make a difference?
