According to http://www.hondabeat.com/ the 2002 S2000 is going to have a rear window made of glass! Now I must decide if I should wait for a 2002 or go ahead and get a 2001. Finding a S2000 is difficult enough, let alone finding one in GPW.

I speculate that this is not fact yet. Anyway, are S2000s really still that hard to find? Every time I go in for an oil change these days, I see more than a few for sale. Given the option I suppose I'd want to wait for glass (hedging my bet that it was coming of course). However, that's easy for me to say seeing as I already own one...

Who cares? Roadsters should be driven with the top down anyway. If you don't live in sunny Ca. make it a GT for the winter. He He He!!!

Hi Marcus,

I can't reveal my source (what kind of reporter would I be?!) but I can
assure you, it's a VERY reliable one! Honda has actually been talking about
doing this for awhile after numerous customer requests I would guess.

I wouldn't bet my life on it, but I would bet the farm (or my Civic)... Hope
this helps.

Thanks for writing,

Ellen Emerson

On the front page of your website today it mentioned that the 2002 S2000 will be
produced with a glass rear window. I'd like to know your source and if it
is accurate or if it is more rumor. Are you absolutly certain that it will
be a glass convertible window?

Thanks!

Marcus

S2kFan...thanks for the further investigation! You can never believe anything unless you see it as an official Honda press release.

I spoke w/ a Honda salesman today who stated that the 2002 Honda S2000 will have a rear window made of glass. I believe him for the following reasons.

1. I've known the guy for 3 years.
2. He sold me my current & previous car.
3. He works at a dealership that has "One Simple Price."

Basically, the guy has no reason to lie but... he could be misinformed. He's going to research it a little bit more and see if he can get all of the details for me.

Does your buddy have any idea if the MY2000 and MY2001's can be retro-fitted for the new glass window?? I still do not see how it is possible w/out a total redesign... Keeping my fingers crossed.

PS - This post in no way confirms my belief in the rumor
I'll believe it when I see it!
