Is it safe to use these points?
I had a CRX back in the day. I used a hydraulic jack with a 2" by 4" underneath the rails simular to the ones in your pic. One of them didn't just dent, it caved in about an inch or so.

These rails are not very strong and no disrespect to xviper, but I don't think that these rails are intended to withstand the weight of the car in a localized area.

I'm not gonna risk it after seeing what happened with my CRX. The front and rear center jacking points are perfectly fine.

service guy at Honda didn't think I should use the diff.

I jacked along the rail further down or up from the jack points so that I could place jack stands under the jack points. I used a piece of wood to help distribute the load. Anyone find any short comings with this method? I had more of a problem bringing the car down then putting it up.

MY GOD! You have JUST got to be KIDDING! I think it's time you found a new dealer to go to.

Let me ask you .......................... Did you actually BELIEVE him?????????

Look it up in your OWNER'S MANUAL. It clearly states that the rear diff on an S2000 is THE recommended lift point when jacking up the entire rear of the car. They purposely made that "horseshoe" shaped re-inforced metal surround around the drain plug so it can take the weight of the car. Now take that owner's manual and show it to him and tell him he needs to find a new job. He obviously has no clue about the one he's doing.

UNBELIEVABLE! .................................. UNING BELIEVEABLE!!!

Oh, and what's wrong with using the specially re-inforced metal bits on the side rails for jacking up the car? Those are also the RECOMMENDED side jacking points as stated in the OWNER'S MANUALS. Why are people second guesing this stuff and finding other ways to do things that may hurt the car??????

so, needless to say I got the car up, grinded my calipers and just finished painting them black, my girlfriend accidently tossed my decalgirl logos out, so im going to have to order another set...

another questions, got the car up, now i wanna make sure i get it right coming down, do i get the jack back in the rear, lift it a little higher, then pull the jacks from rear and do the same in the front???

xviper, i'm not kidding, they know nothing about this car. Another question I had asked was about the black tape around the windsheild screen. They didn't know what I was talking about. I'm going to have to pull out the OM and look again I thought I had only read about the 4 jack points. The reason I'm looking for another point is that I can't jack the car from the jack point and fit a jack stand under it at the same time. I have more room in my garage on the sides of my car to jack from, that is why I'm asking. The back of course isn't a problem with the garage door is open.

thanks for your help xv!

Actually, tell him to go look in his own service manual for the S2000. Tell him to go to page 1-11 (General Information at the front of the manual) and there, he will find as clear as day, a full page describing exactly where the jacking points are. Your owner's manual only shows the side jacking points.

Oh, if he has a problem finding it in the first dozen pages of his service manual, Let me know. I'll gladly sent him an email attachment of that scan from my manual. I won't even charge him the standard whatever $75.00 an hour that his dealership charges you to just look at your car.

Oh, you won't find anything in the owner's manual about the black tape around the windshield. This was something the owner's discovered on their own and reported it here years ago.

I'm assuming you have the car up on 4 jackstands?
The rear shouldn't be a problem unless your car is lowered. Lift up on the center of the diff and remove the jackstands. Slowly lower it and watch to make sure nothing touches the jack. The front may be a bit more tricky. Raise it by the central jacking point and do the same as the back, but clearance may be an issue if your floorjack is to high when in the full down position. If it looks like you will hit the front bumper overhang, then raise it back up and put the jacks back. Put some lumber under the tires and try again. Drive the car off the wood when done.

hmmm, how about this, lets say i lower the front after ive removed the jacks, now, the problem is the jack isnt low enough to pull out, but then i reraise it the stock jack, pull the other jack out, then lower the car with the stock???

Lumber would be a lot easier and safer. I don't trust that little stock jack.
