The stock head unit is four-channel, but only two are used. Lucid's harness connects the rear speakers to the unused channels, so you take advantage of some unused amplifier capacity.

I think they're a really good "bang for the buck." External amps, etc. may be better, but the rear speakers are a low-cost improvement that does help.

Rear speakers alone are a HUGE improvement from stock setup. Hell, replacing the front speakers is the first cheap Huge improvement. From there the sky is the limit.
