rear tie bar, does it make any difference?
I'm a little confused by your question.
As you mention, the S2000 comes from the factory with a rear tie bar. In fact, there are two rear tie bars - an upper one (between the shock mounting points) and lower one (between the rear sub-frame members). And yes, the tie bars help to improve the stiffness of the chassis.
If you're interested in replacing the factory tie bar with an aftermarket unit, you might save a little weight and it might look nicer, but there will not be any benefit in terms of chassis stiffness.
