Default Rear window replacement

I'm new here, so forgive me if this has already been coverd. Is it possible to replace the S2000 plastic rear window with a glass one? If so, where is such a window available?

Thanks.

The 2002 model is supposed to come with glass. Does anyone know if it will fit? It would appear that the rest of the top has not changed in the pictures I've seen, and that the new glass window will zip in where the old one was. I'm concerned, though, that even that the window shrank with the glass, that there is still a bend in the old top that may cause a problem (CRACK!!!).

Anyone know?

Nobody will know until the '02's are released and inspected by someone on the board. Or until Honda sells some kind of retro-fit kit.

With Honda's response to the clock ('01), radio (tweeters in the door), deal pedal, console cover and half leather wrapped shifter - I certainly would *expect* a simple modification to add the glass.

They seem very interested in making this car near perfect. I do suspect they will leave the torque issue (lack there of) to the tuners - warranty, liability reasons.

From what we've seen, and what i know of our rear window, it should be an easy retrofit. It will cost quite a bit of labor though, as that rear panel unzips partially and then rivets need to be removed from the bottom to get the stock rear window panel out, then the reverse needs to be done to put in a new one. i dont think it will be amatter of if it can be done, it will more be a matter of how much will it cost.

I agree the retrofit should be easy- I've spoken with two owners that had theire plastic ones replaced and said it was an easy job at a cost of $125.

NOT

I just got my car back today from the upholsterer who replaced the plastic rear window. He had to take out most of the interior and spent 3 1/2 days on it. Yes he worked very carefully and did a great job. I bet the part alone is way more than $125. I've got a picture of it here:

The official Honda time is six hours. Don, who did my replacement, has been repairing convertible tops for 40 years. Yes this was his first S2000 fix, but he's not inexperienced.

Whoa! I stand corrected- that sucks. Did you replace it because of fading or other reasons? Man I hope the glass is a retrofit- my fear is that the mechanism will somehow be different.
