recent oil change with no filter wrench
so i changed my oil again, no big deal except the last place that did my oil change put the filer on very tight...i have oil filter wrenches but none that fit the filter i took off...so what to do?
i thought about it alot and here is the tip...you take a large hose clamp, like the one that is used for the intake on a car or a large rubber hose...the type that has a screw tightner that is alot a 5/16th socket size in case you do not have a screwdriver. place that on the end of the filter just behind the sqared off part, that the proper wrench fits on, in the direction of the motor....then wrap a piece of shoelace or other heavy string around the nut/screw on the clamp, from the bottom of the car, on each side of the clamp you have this line hanging down, like two pull handles...then you pull and wallahhh...the filter turns and enough to break loose and you can take it off by hand.
you place the clamp on from above and tighten it from above, then from below you wrap the line on it and pull. this worked for me.

There is always the screwdriver mention. Punch a screwdriver through the filter and spin it off.

SO ghetto!
(anyone not laughing at this has obviously never had to do it...)
Or for future oil changes, spend the few bucks for a filter wrench that will work. I doubt this will be your last oil change.
ps. Generally, a filter that is put on hand tight will require a filter wrench to take off. If you can take off a used filter with you hands, it was either not put on tight enough or you are a gorilla.

), the problem with the S2000 is getting both hands on the filter to turn it. It's pretty cramp in there.
Actually, if you buy one of those to fit the PCX, and your dealer installs the 'other Honda Filter designed to fit all Hondas except the S2000), then you will have to buy a smaller wrench.
Yes, this did happen to me.
