As I research and obsess, I'm finding a lot of inconsistencies in the red/Black interiors. Some have red carpet, red door insets and red in the center of the seats. Other have full red seats and door insets, but black carpet, and others are all black interior with red in the center of the seats. All are 2006, all Silver.
Were the different combinations? Or am I seeing patch jobs aftermarket?
^^^Likely the owners swapped in some OEM and aftermarket parts to customize to their liking. I have an AP1 with 2005 AP2 red/blk seats and a 2006 with AP1 black seats, just the way I like them.
different model years came with different combinations and colors. the difference in seats also makes changes to the pattern in which two tones are applied.
Specifically for 2006? My Silverstone interior is "Boring Black (tm)". There are stickers in one of the door jams that show the interior and exterior colors. Mine notes "Interior Color: Type A Black." If you're comparing cars note the stickers. Let us know too as I'm now curious and have yet to locate a list of them. Exterior lists abound though.

Did you swap the rails too? Or how did you keep the airbag lights from coming on in the 06?
In the USA 2006 Sebring Silver was only available with black interior.
In the USA 2006 Silverstone was available with red/black interior. Black dash and roll hoops, red carpet and floor mats, red inserts on door panels, the seats had red center sections and black bolsters & headrest. The headrest had no hole.
@s2Ka - Thank you, sir! That helps a lot... My guess some of what I'm seeing is modified then - several are as above (which I figured was the proper configuration), others are variations which are likely swapped seats, etc.
I want to state up front that his is honestly not intended to come across as patronizing in any way. Chuck, I know that I've seen you comment at least a few times now various things to the effect that you really don't care about the paint color of an S2000, and you're fine that you ended up with Silverstone, etc.. Now you've referred to your interior as boring black, lol. Even though I had a deep personal preference for the white over tan combination, I wanted to say to all the owners of silverstone/black cars that I always considered this combination to be my fail safe backup choice, and I mean that in the most positive of ways. I actually would have been thrilled to end up with this color combination if I wasn't able to locate my top choice. If I were ever lucky enough to somehow obtain a second S2000 I know that I'd be focused on a silverstone/black AP1 car. To be honest, I like most of the S2000 colors in general. But I've seen the silverstone/black combo referred to as the quintessential S2000 color combination and I would tend to agree with that statement. I think it looks both awesome and timeless (much like the S2000 itself). I believe that's reason why more S2000s were sold in this color combination than any other. Good stuff!
After continual research I think I've gotten to the bottom of it... I think this one (https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/720689047/overview/) may have been victim of flood damage or something, although it isn't noted on the Carfax report. The door insets are correct, but the seats are solid red and the carpet is black.
I think I'm becoming most partial to the Silverstone with Black/Red interior. At first I was hooked on the Laguna Blue, but I really like Silverstone, and I agree with GuthNW - it's timeless and classy, although I agree with you that many of the colors look great. I did find a later model Suzuka Blue with the blue/black interior and that's really nice as well... Choices, choices.
