Red Calipers
How do I paint my calipers red. What do I use to paint them without them ever fading or affecting performance? Or if this is a bad idea, where can I buy red calipers and how much are they? I really like how this setup would look, esp. with having red interior.
red caliper? they belongs to brembo
any high temp. paint will do, 17 dollar caliper paint are nice but high temp. paint only cost 5 buck, you could do 10 cars with a can.
the key thing about painting anything is preping the surface, lightly sand it, wash it dry it and use a use alchol or acetone to get the last bite of oil out.
tape off the hose, bracket and bleed nipple or anything you don't want to spray.
it helps to remove it from the mounting bracket(not taking off completely but remove it to the side)
give it a couple of light coat, make sure you let them dry up before driving.
don't use brake cleaner on those painted surface, or it will mess up the finish.
i did a couple in black or silver(friend's car), no paint for me

I just did it this past weekend and got the G2 kit from www.decalgirl.com.
Light sanding will not be enough if you want a good looking finished product.
At the very least you'll need a dremel tool for remove the many casting marks.
And be sure to clean the caliber's like theres no tommorrow.
And might I add you cannot drive the car for at least 24 full hours after you finish.
Don't rush it and do at least 4 coats on each.
The results will be your reward for taking the time...good luck/

ok will keep that in mind. Thanks. ALso, I saw red Bremel caliper covers, which can prevent dust build up in the calipers. Or would painting them be my best bet for a nice look?
If you want to paint your calipers then definitely spend the few extra dollars and go with G2 caliper paint. You can order it on ebay or from decalgirl.com. I wouldn't paint your stock calipers red though, they look too small in red, almost like a fake BBK. Black is where its at, subtle and clean looking IMO.
