Default Red Key?

On my old Prelude, I got a red key with the car. The lude has an immobilizer system and so does the S2K but when I went to pick up the S at the dealer today, there wasn't a red key included. Am I missing something here? The salesman says he has sold 3 S2K, and they don't have the red key included.

Sorry guys, should have read the owner's manual. It seems odd not to have a red key oh well. I think 3 keys are more than enough.

I bought my care used and didn't get the valet key ...

Well, good thing I don't let the valet touch my car.

You cannot start a Prelude with the red key. It was only there for getting new ones made.

They don't need the red key for the S2K to get new ones made. I'm not sure of the specifics though.

You better hope the previous owner doesn't find your car and go for a joy ride with that valet key. They wouldn't be able to get into the trunk with it but they would be able to get into the car and go for a fun ride! Sorry to worry you like that! Enjoy your S!

Red key was for programming purposes. Immobilizer tech has come a long way, this generation doesn't require the red key.
