I just bought a '04 S2000 (haven't gotten it yet though). I'm loving the new headlights and the LED tails on the '04, but I wish the car didn't have orange reflectors in the tail lights and it was just red/white like the '00-03s. I was thinking it might be easy to replace the orange reflector with a red one, or at least tint it with some red vinyl.

Has anyone tried redding out the tail lights? If so, what did you use, and do you have pics?

Yes it has been done it's in the gallery under the 'clearing' of MY04 headlights....

My opinion on reding the tail lights is that it's the only thing worse than amber. Why? To me it makes it look like the cheap POS american cars that specifically petitioned the government to permit red blinkers in the rear because they were too cheap to pay for a second bulb.....

To each his own but super ugly to me. One interesting possibility that was suggested was to try painting the amber silver....might be interesting but I've never seen it done.....

 

orange sux to though on the back. Wonder why they did that on the 04? Red and white r def the nice combo.

 

i thnk the ferrari scaglietti has orange signals. the jdm s2k's too

anyway. one option you can do is to buy those red tint model spray paint and spray a little into the light socket but im not sure how good it'll come out.

 

that would be pretty interesting to see. can anyone that has some time on their hands photoshop that so we can see what it may look like.

What about the amber in the front headlights of the 04...seems it would be hard if not impossible....then again.

 

That looks really sweet! I like it a lot. What did you do to get it to be clear? Did you spraypaint it silver like others have suggested?

btw- Does it still blink amber so its legal? I guess regardless you could put an amber bulb in there right? Cops around here are anal about everything and will pull you over for everything.
