Default redline and fuel cutoff

does it blink a different number of times in each gear. today in from 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd it blinked maybe once or twice before fuel cutoff. at least it appeared that way.

I noticed when i was driving to LA last weekend, from 3rd-4th and 4th-5th i was shifting after 3 blinks. is something wrong here. was maybe 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd

The blinking occurs when you reach redline(8900rpm). If you hold engine speed at that level, it will continue blinking until the end of time. Fuel shutoff occurs at ~9150rpm. When engine speed reaches that number, be sure you have your seatbelt on.

I recommend shifting BEFORE the gauge starts blinking.

The lower the gear, the faster you increase the RPMs. So if you are flat out in second, the time between 8900 RPMs and fuel cutoff is about one second.

In fourth gear, it takes three or four times that long to go from 8900 to cutoff. So that means more time for the tach to blink.

we get 3 blinks over in Australia
my mate wait for the 3rd blink before he shift most of the time......well until he blew 2 engines

I recommend that you should shift before the redline!
