Default Refund On Extended Warranty

Hello. I have a MY2003 and I purchased the extended warranty for $975. It's for 6yrs. or 75,000 mi. The car was delivered on 3/11/03. Can someone tell me what I have to do to get the warranty refunded, and about how much I can expect to get back? Any help would be appreciated.

I did this with my EP3. Go to the dealer and tell them you want a refund for your extended warranty. I got back nearly $900 for the warranty and service contract. What you will get will depend on how much time is left. Your refund will be prorated. It's as easy as going to the dealer and asking. It should probably take about a week to process. Also, keep in mind Honda's gap coverage and service contracts if you have those. They are refundable as well!

I just bought my car a month ago, and decided to cancel my extended warranty, but the finance guy said I had to wait 3 months. What's up with that? Maybe it would mess up the paperwork since I haven't even got my first bill yet? Nothing like driving a sweet car that you haven't had to pay for (yet)

It might be possible that he just said that to make you keep it for a while, and then hope that you'd forget about it. Not sure about how things work over there, but here, they make money off of extended warranties. So cancelling it would mean he wouldn't get paid on it. Doesn't hurt to call up another dealer or even Honda and see if the guy was telling the truth...
