Talking Regular or synthetic oil?

I used mobil 1 synthetic in my Z06 (not to mention it comes out of the box that way) , but I was thinking about swapping to the same for my first oil change in my 05. What do you guys think? Does it really matter in the S2000? Or am I just wasting my money? Comments?

Thanks,

Jon

Honda recommends waiting until 10K miles before switching to synthetic.

Oh yeah. Read the "Oil Journals". Everything you ever wanted to know about lubricants and the S2000 (and then some) is here:

I use regular oil. I was using synthetic, but my car drank that like it was its job. After switching back to regular, the oil level always stays at the "H" on the dipstick and I drive the piss out of it

I switched to Mobile 1 around the 10k mark. As my car gets older it uses less oil than when it was new.

I use Chevron Supreme 10W-30 (same as Havoline GF-4 recommended in the oil journals). I change my oil in the spring and just before putting the car into semi-storage in the fall. I put less than 3,000 miles on an oil change, so there is no point in going to a higher-priced synthetic that offers longer drain intervals. The "oil journals" indicate to me that the new regular oils are good enough for the way I drive my S2000.

I switched to Mobil 1 in my '05 at the 3,000 mile mark. It's running great and no oil loss or anything.

i got into a big debate about this with my buddies, i would not do it till 10k either but i could not find a tech i talked with who would back that up. they say most everything is seated properly after 1,000 mi. from what i understand the bushings ect are made w/ different compounds that in the past when synth would cause leaks.

i went to synth at 6k. no issues if it helps any...
