I have recently seen some topics of newcomers aking why they are seeing all these posts about problems with the S2000.

I would just like to add that statistically speaking, persons who have problems with thier car...will look to complain or seek answers about it somewhere, where there are plenty of persons who are happy with their cars and not posting on S2000online.com.

I'm not saying that there is nothing wrong with the car...heck, I had to have my 2nd gear serviced because of "the grind". I'm just saying that S2000online is not an "equivalent" representation of the S2000 owner population.

I would say a higher percentage of S2000 owners here (on this board) drive their cars "hard" when compared to all S2000 owners.

So why do you think the population on this board is not representative of the S2000 owners population as a whole?
cdelena,

Well, my "theory" is that most of the persons came to this board because of stuff like...

1. they are complaining or looking for a solution to a car problem.
2. they are looking for some aftermarket parts.

I just think there is a whole "region" of persons who are satisfied with the car and don't post on S2000online.com.

Chris

If the population of the S2K owners on this board was selected randomly from the general population of S2K owners, then I would conclude that the board was representative. But, I believe that there is some sample selection bias here. I think the owners who are more attuned to the Internet and more technologically savvy (about cars and computers) are overrepresented here (I

There is nothing that indicates this board is or is not representative of the owner population as a whole. In many ways I think it is representative and does indicate something about the owners, their experiences, and the car.

After posting on this and H-A S2000 boards for almost two years the only thing I can say for sure is that the board retains people that are enthusiastic about the car, the others don

I think cdelena has a great point. But on the flip side, it would SEEM that this car has lots of problems because everyone who comes to this board will complain about the problems they have. You almost never hear of people just comming here to say 'no problems today or ever, thanks bye'.
