That thread is a direct result of all the threads implying that the car has problems and is one person's attempt at balancing the scales - Read the first post as quoted here:

"In light of the proliferation of FUD on this board in the past few weeks, I just want to take a second to say that I have had my S2000 since April, 2000 and have never had a single problem with the car.

I drive it hard every weekend in rain/sleet/snow/sun/whatever. I have taken it up to the mountains for snowboarding almost every weekend since christmas. All I do is clean it from time to time and change the oil. The rest is pure driving pleasure. Just thought
I'd share."

I don't think there's any doubt that there are more threads discussing problems that people have with the car then there are threads saying how happy people are with the car. This is to be expected because people are more vocal when unhappy than when happy. Ask any customer service representative.

I like this board and learn a lot from it.
I also appreciate those who posted their problems and solutions as they may be useful someday.
I, myself, do not have any issues with my car.
There are two other S2K owners in my workplace; they don't read or have the desire to post to this internet forum. However, they also do not have any issues with their cars when I talked to them occasionally.

Now I did say that we 'almost' never hear about people just saying the car is perfect. My car has the tranny problem but I still think it is utterly fantastic.

strike you took the words from my mouth.

Good points...

from STL,
I can speak from experience here because the only reason I ever go to the Prelude forum (H-A.net's) is when I have problems.
A lot of people (that aren't really internet savy) might never look for a forum if they haven't had any problems
from asin,

VERY well said UNICRON!!!!

Many people comes here to speak about their problems, everyone would have things to say about any car.
The nice thing is that everyone here contribute to help and determine what are the answers and what to do.

This forum is not the mirror of reality.

Vincelio,

No doubt that this is a great forum, I've learned what to do about my skipping cd changer and what to do about my 2nd gear grind.

Thanks S2000online and S2000onliner's,

I had a blowout a week after I bought the car. My first transmission died at 4000 miles due to the ol' second gear grind. The replacement transmission still had the grind until it broke in - now it's just notchy going into second. My first rear end died within a few weeks of getting the car but I could not get honda to replace it until June. The new rear end went bad under extremely light driving after a few more months and I rebuilt it with a forged differential in December because Honda refused to warranty it a second time. My first clutch was replaced when the first transmission was swapped out. The second clutch simply could not grip and a few times just smoked when I tried to launch the car medium hard. That overheating killed that clutch after 11,000 miles and I had to replace it with an upgraded clutch so that I would not be replacing clutches every 10k miles. Oh yeah, and my axles pop a little.

Don't tell me I'm just bitching.
