Yep. The first time I drove one was about 30 minutes before I signed the contract.
Me too.

The first thing I noticed when I drove mine was how tight the steering was. I just knew the rest of the car was all about performance.

i used to think that i would never own or buy the s2000 because it was just a four banger. After i test drove the car i realized how wrong i was. Dealer let me take it over 6k. I remember it vividly. as soon as i passed 6k i heard the vtec ring and i was smiling wide! bought the car two weeks later. Two very long weeks....

I had just mounted a set of s0-2's on a 00-01 berlina that was so clean inside and out. Took it around the back of my work to park it and on the way i took a hard right and just fell in love. i said screw the Z and the Sti, i need an S, so I picked one up a couple of weeks later.

Some times in the early morning when I am on my way to work I just can't wait for the car to warm up. I have a mean seat of turns that pass the main shipping pier and I love taking them at 70 or 80ish.

Back in '01, it was impossible to find a car to demo at a local dealer. And I won't buy a car I haven't test driven. Then a neighbor was takling to me about something else, and mentioned that another neighbor had bought a car I might like. It was an S2k. Well, I called that other neighbor, and he agreed that I could test drive his. Frankly, I didn't find the lack of low rpm torque to be as bad as reported, admired the body stiffness and handling, and fell in love with the steering. Then, we took the car out on the highway, and I VTECed it, and man was I sold! I called the dealer down the street and ordered one right then, even though it took over two months to get it in. As I drive by the dealer's location often, it just so happened that I saw the delivery truck pull up there with my S2k on it. And, of course, I called the dealer and said "get her off and get her prepped".

Later that afternoon, I took delivery. And after five years, I'm still looking for something that is better over all, that won't force me to sell parts of my body to come up with the price, and havent found it.

Two weeks ago, I actually test drove something I had considered as a replacement for the five year old S2k. It was a 600+ hp beast, but it weighed over two tons. Yeah, it would get to 60 mph about .5 seconds faster, but steering and handling were lame. So I forgot about it! The car was a Mercedes Benz SL 65 AMG, that cost around $200,000. So, I'll just keep the S2k in my garage, and about $180,000 in my pocket.

Thanks,
Richard

Test drove a 02 Berlina a few months before picking up my Sebring.

First time I got in the car, everything just felt so right. The ergnomics were just perfect for me. All the knobs and buttons were in the right places. The shifter position was right on the money. Turned on the engine, took her for a spin around the block, and I just knew. No other car would satisfy me like that.

It's been almost 2 years, and everytime I start the car up, I still get a nice smile going.

I test drove one probably 3 years ago. We didn't go very far and I didn't even take it past 4,000 rpms. I felt it was small and that it wasn't all that fast, but I knew what it could do from what I've read about it. Back then, I didn't need two cars living in NYC but it's always been on the back of my mind to get one someday.

A co-worker of mine told me one day that he saw an used s2000 at a local used car lot with "OH BABY" on the windshield. He knew I wanted one and would always say "Oh baby" whenever we pass each other at the office.

Fast forward to last year. I decided to treat myself and finally get one after hearing about the lease special. A trip to the dealer and another test drive was all it took and I got my car three days later. As I was driving home with the top down, I said to myself "OHHHHH BABY!"
