Remove H emblems cover holes with vinyl?
So after removing my S2000 emblems from the sides(which was a bitch and a half to get the adhesive off) don't have access to a hair dryer....
I do want the clean look of no emblems front or back as well.
However, I do not want to spend the big bucks to shave them, and fill them in just quite yet. I would want to repaint my front bumper after I get some more rock chips etc...
But I thought instead of plastic plugs etc... how would it look if the holes were instead covered with sebring color matched vinyl. basically two small circles that would cover the holes up just enough. That way they wouldnt protrude as plastic plugs would.
Has anyone tried this? And would this be totally ghetto?
Just a thought.

I was thinking about ditching my front and rear emblems as well. Got the sides off and I agree that took some time. I started looking for lower profile side markers to get a cleaner look too.
One Idea I was thinking about, was to use the license plate hole covers that are color matched from honda to cover the emblem holes. I tried to fit one but the holes were wider and did not fit. I have never got around to cutting one up to make it fit, just have not had time. I figure it would look okay because you will have the same color but it will look like you have a wart on you hood and trunk lid.
I have also considered getting smaller 'H' emblems and painting them to match my car. I'm not a big fan of shiney stuff. I even painted my mufflers black, and the crazy tooth in front of the radiator (reciever/dryer on your hp line). Well good luck.

Yeah - I'm considering painting the front and rear ones the same color as the body.
I removed the "2000" on the drivers side and put on clear markers. I was going to remove the "S", but decided to leave it. Did the same on the passenger side, but had to move the "S" closer to the light. I think it looks relly good (and clean), and after all it's technically an S2200.

Yea, I did think it may look like a wart etc... I figure from afar it might not look to bad though. But the other option was the paint the emblems body color. Where do you get sebring paint in that qty?
I'm pretty sure painting it over with touch up paint wouldn't come out too good.

take the emblems to a shop. You want to make sure they can do it right. Not everyshop will paint to match emblems.
It will need prep with scotch bright, clean , spray adhesion promoter, then seal, base, clear. You get extra points if you bring some sort of stand with a heavy bottom that holds the emblems securely for the painter.
FYI- PTM emblems look just right. they blend away until youre looking right at it.
Good luck

We need to start a thread on these clean look options. I hadnt thought about the line on the front being painted black. Of course they should all be things that dont take away from the car at a glance you wouldnt notice.
I think the vinal would look pretty ghetto. You car is too nice to do that to it.
Get a set of emblems, and take them to the body shop that painted my car. (Or give them to me, and I'll take them up there for you.) Of course, they will need a sample of your paint. The gas door is a good choice.
