I will have to remove the front bumper, how many screws and where are they? What do I use to heat the glue, can I just a hair dryer? What do I use to reseal the housing? What type of bulbs do I need to replace the clear ones?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

Sorry I can't help with the technical stuff JiggaTaOG, but a previous post back in December or January gave all the info and pics you might need. Try a search for "clear headlights". Here is a tidbit from S2K-F8 in a January post:

This involves removing the front bumper, removing the brackets below the headlights, then removing the headlight assembly (several hidden bolts holding them in). The seal between the headlight lens and housing is then heated with a heat gun and slowly preyed apart (this step is very time consuming). Once the headlight assembly is seperated, the internal amber lens is removed.

Then you just repeat the process in reverse to put everything back together. We also put a layer of silicon sealent around the seam of the headlight assembly just to be on the safe side.

It took about 7hrs. to complete

JiggaTaOG,

S2K-F8 and I cleared out our headlights a few months ago.
It took about 7 hours, but that because we were very careful and cautious.

You need:
Tools, many of them. Screw drivers, wrenches, etc.
A heat gun (a good one, and if you decide to use a hair dryer, it will take you MUCH longer than 7 hours. Not recommended).
Silicone (You reheat the existing black sticky glue that comes with the lights and use that to reseal them. Then apply a second coat of silicone. We used black silicone).
I left the clear bulbs in there, but S2K-F8 got some PIAA amber ones. Up to you on that one.

And a lot of patience.

Email me or call me and I will help you as best as I can.
Many little tricks you learn as you do it.

horns? hmmm, might help you pull off the bumper, but try this link to the clear light mod by 1RandyC.

pnty drpr, are the clear bulbs too bright w/o the ambler lens? I would hate to get pulled over by the cops b/c my clear/amber bulbs are too bright. I'm assuming you didn't replace the amble lens w/your own custom lens?

I would like to thank pnty drpr for giving me a quick run through of the whole process...Thanks for taking time out of your trip to Disney World pnty drpr!

well after a few hours of fiddling with the bumper and the light housing brackets, i finally got the light assemblies out. the problem is using this hair dryer is taking way too long...is there a chemical out there that might "melt" this stuff?
